The Links at Midlane
The Links at Midlane is an attractive, diverse and friendly golf course community located in Northeast Lake County, Illinois. We are located near the Des Plaines River Trail at the west end of York House Rd.
We are often asked: "What town are you in?" Well it depends on what you mean. We are served by the Wadsworth post office, so we have a 60083 zip code. Our municipality is Waukegan for voting and city services including poiice, fire, parks, library, and streets and sanitation. As part of Waukegan we have access to Lake Michigan water. Our public schools are part of Gurnee District 56 for K-8 and Warren Township High School.
The homes in our community were built between 1994 and 2005, and include single family detached homes from 3-5 bedrooms, ranch villas, attached ranch homes, and townhomes. Many homes overlook the privately operated 18 hole golf course.The area is attractively landscaped with several ponds and mature trees.
A friendly place to live, our winding sidewalks allow many residents to walk or jog through the community, stopping and talking with their neighbors and exercising their dogs. The fence free yards and cul de sacs become a place where children play in and around each other's homes. Daytime Trick or Treat is a neighborhood highlight with neighbors having parties, groups of neighbors and their children going house to house together and former families and surrounding neighbors joining in on the fun.
We have abundant recreational opportunities that include, of course, golf! We have two play areas for young children soon to be designated as City Parks by the highly regarded Waukegan Park District. Lake Michigan is only a few miles away. The Lake County Forest Preserves have miles of trails for walking, biking and cross country skiing. There is a new dog park less than a mile away. We are not far from Gurnee Mills shopping, lots of restaurants and, to children and teens' delight, Six Flags Great America.
